Romans 8:18
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
Philippians 3:8
“What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”
Reflection
Moses had to make a decision that would completely transform his destiny. As a prince of Egypt, he had access to power, honor, wealth, and every comfort the world could offer. Yet God was forming something far greater than an earthly prince: He was building the deliverer of a nation.
To carry such a calling, Moses needed to understand the true value of eternal riches. That is why he chose to leave the comfort of the palace and take his place in the mud under the whip of Egypt alongside the people of God. Humanly it looked like loss, but spiritually it was a promotion into eternal purpose.
Moses understood something profound: the sufferings of Christ contain riches far greater than gold and silver. Suffering for the sake of the Kingdom purifies the heart, breaks love for the world’s system, and forms within us the nature of those who can carry the glory and authority of God.
God does not build deliverers in comfort. He forms eternal hearts through processes where visible riches lose their value compared to His presence, His purpose, and heavenly reward. Those who will be used to bring freedom to others must first learn that true riches are not earthly, but eternal.
Meditation for Today
What temporary things still hold too much value in my heart?
Am I willing to choose eternal purpose over personal comfort?
Do I recognize that processes and sufferings in Christ are forming eternal riches within me?
Prayer
Father, teach me to value eternal riches above temporary ones. Like Moses, I want to keep my eyes fixed on the eternal reward and not on the passing comforts of this world.
Form in me a heart capable of carrying Your purpose. Let processes and trials not pull me away from You, but produce greater purity, obedience, and dependence on Your presence. Help me understand the true value of the riches of Your Kingdom and prepare my life to fulfill the calling You have designed for me. Amen.
Blessings beloved
