John 20:15 “He asked her, ‘Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?’ Thinking he was the gardener, she said, ‘Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.'”
1 Corinthians 15:45 “So it is written: ‘The first man Adam became a living being’; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.”
Reflection
If Jesus is the last Adam, he is the keeper of the garden.
And what happened at the resurrection? How did He appear to Mary Magdalene? As the keeper of the garden, the last Adam, the gardener.
She thought He was the gardener, but it wasn’t a mistake of perception. It was a profound revelation of who Jesus really is: the last Adam who restores the garden of Eden.
He resurrects and the first thing He brings us is the garden of Eden back to us.
The first Adam lost the garden. The last Adam restored it. In His resurrection, Jesus not only conquered death, but brought back the reality of Eden where the heavenly and earthly meet, where man walks with God without separation, where life flows without obstacles.
Meditation for Today
Do I understand that Jesus as the last Adam restored the garden of Eden? Am I walking in that restored reality or do I still live outside the garden?
Prayer
Father, I acknowledge that Jesus is the last Adam, the gardener who restored the garden of Eden.
I receive the reality of the restored garden where the heavenly and earthly meet.
May I walk in that reality without separation from You, where Your life flows without obstacles.
Amen.
