Hebrews 11:5–7 “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death… and before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God… By faith Noah… condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.”
Jude 1:14–15 “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying: Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all…”
Genesis 5:24 “And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.”
Reflection
The early church read the Book of Enoch, and the people of Israel knew his testimony. The Scriptures themselves mention Enoch and reveal his prophetic role.
Although the Book of Enoch was not included in the biblical canon when the Scriptures were formally compiled, this does not diminish the spiritual reality revealed in Enoch’s life nor his testimony in the Word of God.
Enoch was taken to heaven after walking in deep communion with God. His life became a testimony before a corrupt generation. His holiness rose before the divine court as evidence against the wickedness of the world.
In the Scriptures, the word “witness” does not refer only to someone who observes events. It is a title given to one who testifies in a court — either to judge or to defend. A witness carries authority because their life reflects the truth.
Noah’s holiness also became a testimony. His obedience and righteousness condemned the unbelief of the world around him. His life demonstrated what it means to walk with God in the midst of corruption.
The heroes of faith are called witnesses because their faith produced holiness. Their lives became evidence of the reality of God. When they were taken into God’s presence, their testimony did not end — it continued as a testimony of righteousness and truth.
Faith, therefore, is not merely believing. It is a way of living that transforms the heart, produces holiness, and establishes a testimony before heaven and earth.
God is still seeking people whose lives become a testimony — lives that bear witness to His nature, His righteousness, and His truth.
Meditation for Today
Take time to reflect:
Is my life a testimony of faith and holiness before God? Does my walk with God reflect His righteousness to those around me? Am I seeking a level of communion with God that transforms my life into a witness?
Ask the Lord to form in you a life that reflects His truth.
Prayer
Father, teach me to walk with You as Enoch walked with You.
May my faith produce holiness in my life. Transform my heart so that my life may be a testimony of Your truth and Your righteousness.
Make me a witness of Your glory in this generation. May my life reflect Your nature in everything.
