Reflection
There is a radical difference between knowing information about spiritual warfare and operating from the identity Christ has already established in us. Many have spent years memorizing demonic hierarchies, names, categories, and strategies, thinking that knowledge of the enemy is the key to victory. But Scripture points to something far simpler and yet far deeper: “he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” That union is not a technique one learns; it is a reality that already exists for everyone who is in Christ.
This truth cannot remain merely in the mental realm, as a doctrine affirmed with the mouth but not transforming the way one lives. There is a difference between believing something with the mind and knowing it so deeply that it becomes the very foundation from which one exists and acts. When Paul says we were raised up and seated with Christ in the heavenly places, he is not describing a theoretical position; he is describing where we truly are in the spiritual realm, even while our bodies still walk on the earth.
When someone operates from this identity—not from the effort of rebuking, nor from the fear of confronting something stronger than themselves, but from the certainty of being one spirit with Christ—the dynamic of deliverance changes completely. It is no longer an uncertain battle against forces that might or might not yield; it is the manifestation of a victory already accomplished at the cross. Colossians states it without ambiguity: Christ already spoiled principalities and powers, already triumphed over them openly. There is no demon, however named or categorized, that lies outside the reach of that already-established victory.
This is why theoretical knowledge will never be enough. True authority is not born from how much one knows about the enemy, but from how deeply one knows, in the innermost being, one’s union with Christ and the victory He already won.
Meditation for today
Am I operating from mental knowledge of doctrines, or from the deep certainty of my union with Christ?
Do I live aware that I am already seated with Christ in the heavenly places, or am I still fighting as if victory were yet to be determined?
What would change in how I face spiritual oppression if I operated fully from my identity as one spirit with Christ?
Prayer
Father, thank You that in Christ I am one spirit joined to Him, and that this reality does not depend on how much I know about the enemy, but on how deeply I know Your already-accomplished victory. Help this truth not remain only in my mind, but be established in the innermost part of my being.
Remind me constantly that I am already seated with You in the heavenly places, and that every principality and power was already stripped by Your triumph on the cross. May my life and spiritual authority flow not from fear or human effort, but from the certainty of being united to You. In the name of Jesus, amen.
