Elijah told Elisha “if you can see when I am leaving, then the double anointing will fall on you.”
He didn’t lay hands on him, he challenged him.
Elias said, I know the way, but you cannot have the double anointing if you do not enter with me on that path and see where I am going.
Elijah pulled Elisha so that the next generation would follow further.
