Revelation 21:3
“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.’”
1 Corinthians 3:16
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
John 14:23
“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.’”
Reflection
The tabernacle of God with men is a central reality of God’s eternal purpose: His desire to dwell with His people. The New Jerusalem expresses precisely this consummated union, where God and humanity live in perfect communion. This truth is not only a future hope, but a reality that begins to manifest in those in whom the Spirit of God dwells today.
Scripture teaches that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. This means that God’s presence is not limited to external structures, but dwells within His people. Heaven begins to become visible when the life of God is expressed in His children. Wherever God dwells, there His Kingdom begins to manifest.
However, it is important to understand these realities through the revelation of the Spirit and not merely through human interpretations or religious systems. When the New Jerusalem is separated from the present reality of God’s tabernacle within us, faith is weakened and hope is shifted exclusively into the future, losing the transforming impact of the Kingdom in the present.
God’s purpose is not simply to take us to a future city, but to form a living dwelling in which He now abides among His people. The union between God and humanity in Christ is the center of the Gospel. Wherever the Spirit of God dwells and reigns, the reality of the New Jerusalem begins to manifest.
The true inheritance of the Kingdom is not received from a distance, but through living communion with God. It is in relationship with Christ, in the indwelling of the Spirit, and in inner transformation that the Kingdom becomes present. The New Jerusalem, in its essence, is God fully dwelling with His people.
Meditation for Today
Am I aware that I am the temple of God’s Spirit right now?
Am I living in God’s presence as a present reality or only as a future hope?
Am I allowing the life of God to be manifested in me today?
Prayer
Father, thank You because Your eternal desire has been to dwell with Your people and to make us Your habitation. Thank You because in Christ You have made this wonderful union between heaven and earth possible.
Help me to live aware of Your presence within me every day. Remove from me every mental separation between what You are in heaven and what You desire to do in me on earth. May my life become a place where Your Spirit is freely and fully manifested. Establish within me the living reality of Your Kingdom and make me an expression of Your dwelling in this world. Amen.
Blessings beloved
