Jesus told his disciples, “If you are one like I am one with the Father and you are one with me and with the Father, the world will believe.” And this is something that he told them was going to happen while they were alive.
The problem in the modern church is that we have separated the Holy Spirit from Christ and the Father, creating the perception of three different gods. Some say they have Christ but not the Holy Spirit, which implies a division.
In the Gospel of Thomas, Jesus warns his disciples: “If you have three gods, you have none.”
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one. Jesus returned as the last Adam to join his church, saying, “I will not leave you an orphan.” The church’s greatest challenge is the spirit of orphanhood, as many expect something that Jesus never said. There is no scripture in which He declares that He will return to Jerusalem in a physical body or establish a kingdom on this earth.
