Hebrews 8:5 “They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: ‘See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.'”
Exodus 25:40 “See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
Reflection
Many of the things we think or imagine about heaven, we take from Renaissance paintings.
Others have a certain way of thinking from movies they saw. But heaven is very different from Renaissance paintings.
The first seed I want to plant in your heart is this: EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS ON EARTH EXISTS IN HEAVEN.
Not the other way around. Heaven is not a copy of earth. Earth is a copy of heaven. When God told Moses “make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain,” He was revealing that everything earthly is a figure and shadow of heavenly things.
Earthly temples are copies of the heavenly temple. Earthly priests serve what is a shadow of the heavenly priesthood. The physical realities we see are reflections of heavenly realities that are more real, more substantial, more eternal.
Heaven is not an ethereal, unreal place. It is the place of true reality, and earth reflects that reality in physical and temporal form.
Meditation for Today
Have I built my concept of heaven on paintings and movies, or on the revelation of the Word? Do I understand that everything that exists on earth exists first in heaven?
Prayer
Father, break the false concepts about heaven formed by paintings and movies.
Reveal that everything that exists on earth exists first in heaven, that the earthly is a shadow of the heavenly.
Open my eyes to the heavenly realities that are more real than what I see with my natural eyes.
Amen.
Blessings beloved
