Psalm 103:12
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
Psalm 91:11
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
Isaiah 49:8-9
“I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people… that thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves.”
Reflection
When a person has truly been brought out of captivity, the distance between their former condition and their new reality is not measured in small steps, but in the immensity separating east from west. There is no way to measure that distance because they never meet; that is how definitive God’s work is when He fully restores a child. What once tormented, what once felt like a constant weight, is now so far removed that it no longer belongs to that person’s present reality.
This shift in spiritual location brings with it a change in the very atmosphere surrounding the person. Where there was once oppression, now there are angels ministering; where the weight of sickness and affliction was once felt, now there is a light and spacious place. This is not merely an emotional improvement; it is the direct result of having been transferred from one spiritual territory to a completely different one. Psalm 91 does not describe a remote possibility, but an established reality for the one who dwells in the secret place of the Most High: angels sent to guard, to serve, to minister to those established in the heavenly places.
But this restoration was never designed to remain merely a personal experience. Isaiah prophesies something deeply significant: God gives His people “for a covenant” precisely so that they, in turn, would say to the prisoners “go forth” and to those in darkness “shew yourselves.” Whoever has been set free becomes, by divine design, an instrument of freedom for others. This is not a task reserved for a few specialized ministries; it is the natural calling of everyone who has experienced this real transfer from one kingdom to another.
This is the complete cycle of the Kingdom: to be set free, to be established in the heavenly places, and then to extend that same freedom to others still trapped, speaking to their prisons with the same authority and the same love with which one was set free.
Meditation for today
Do I recognize that my former affliction is now as far from me as the east is from the west, or am I still carrying its weight as if it still belonged to me?
Am I living aware of the light, spacious atmosphere of the heavenly places, or am I still expecting to feel oppression?
Who can I say “come out” to today, now that I myself have been set free and established?
Prayer
Father, thank You that everything that once afflicted me is now as far from me as the east is from the west. Thank You for establishing me in the heavenly places, surrounded by Your protection and angelic ministry, where I once only felt oppression.
Help me live aware of this light, spacious place You have given me, without carrying weights that no longer belong to me. And use me, Father, as a covenant for others: give me boldness to say to the prisoners “go forth” and to those in darkness “shew yourselves,” just as You did with me. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Blessings beloved
