Become Passers-By

Gospel of Thomas, Passage 111

Jesus said, “The heavens on earth will be rolled up in your presence. And the one who lives from the living one will not see death.” Does not Jesus say,“Whoever finds himself is superior to the world?”

What Thomas is writing about from the words of Jesus is that when we enter into God’s Kingdom through the understanding of what Christ did and become a new creation, we will watch the earth being rolled up because it will no longer be our place of security, it will no longer be our place of wisdom, it will no longer be the place that we want to be promoted or exalted or have all of its riches; it will have no more appeal.
