Reflection
Whenever God has established something heavenly that transformed the earth, it has been accompanied by a covenant meal. Under the old covenant, the Passover marked Israel’s deliverance and pointed to the perfect Lamb. Under the new covenant, Jesus gathered His disciples around a table and established an eternal meal that would proclaim His life, death, and resurrection until He comes again.
Covenant meals in Scripture are much more than traditions or religious acts. They are visible proclamations of invisible realities. They are moments when heaven touches earth and when God reminds His people of the promises of His Kingdom. The Lord’s table has always been a place of communion, remembrance, and the establishment of divine purposes.
Our journey through this earthly dimension is not merely about avoiding evil, but about manifesting heavenly realities. We have been called to participate in God’s covenants and to establish on earth what has been conceived in heaven. Therefore, remembering the works of the Lord and celebrating His interventions throughout history are part of our spiritual inheritance.
Remember the most extraordinary event in history: the eternal Son of God became flesh and dwelt among us. Heaven descended to earth in the person of Jesus Christ. The Word became man in order to unite humanity with God again and to open the way into eternal realities.
May we never lose our wonder at this glorious and historic moment. Let us celebrate with gratitude that the King of glory came into the world, because His coming forever changed human history and opened the doors for the Kingdom of Heaven to be established among mankind.
Meditation for Today
Am I living merely to avoid evil, or to establish the realities of God’s Kingdom on the earth?
Do I remain grateful for the incarnation of Jesus Christ and for all that His coming made possible?
Am I remembering and celebrating the works of the Lord with a heart full of gratitude?
Prayer
Father, thank You because from the beginning You have desired to establish Your heavenly realities among men. Thank You for the Lamb of God and for the new covenant sealed with His blood.
Thank You because Your Son became flesh and came into the world to reveal Your glory and reconcile us to You. May I never lose the wonder of this marvelous act of love. Teach me to live not merely by avoiding evil, but by establishing Your Kingdom on the earth and manifesting the realities of heaven in my generation.
May my heart remain thankful, and may I always remember with joy that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Amen.
