Reflection
Faith is not simply believing that Jesus Christ is seated on a throne in heaven. Faith also leads us to recognize a much deeper reality: we have been raised with Christ, and our lives are hidden with Him in God. Through Christ, we have received a new position, a new identity, and a new way of living.
Paul tells us, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above.” The resurrection is not merely an event that took place two thousand years ago; it is the foundation of our new life. The believer is called to live from this reality, fixing their eyes on Christ and learning to live according to the values and nature of His Kingdom.
Religious faith can be reduced to accepting doctrines about God, but biblical faith leads us into a transformed life. Faith becomes a reality when we begin to live according to what we believe. It is through faith that we are justified, and it is through that same faith that we learn to remain steadfast in Christ, even when visible circumstances seem to say otherwise.
If we have been called to live as children of light and participants in resurrection life, then our perspective can no longer be governed by the chaos of this world. This does not mean denying difficulties, but deciding where we will live from when we face them. Faith fixes our eyes on Christ and enables us to remain grounded in the reality of His Kingdom.
The world may change, circumstances may be shaken, and the news may announce fear, but our position in Christ remains unchanged. When our faith is truly rooted in Him, we learn not to move from the truth we have received. Our security is not found in controlling what happens around us, but in remaining united with the One who conquered death and gave us new life.
Meditation for Today
Am I living as someone who has been raised with Christ, or am I only believing intellectually in the resurrection?
Where is my focus when circumstances begin to change?
Am I remaining steadfast in the reality of Christ even when the world around me is filled with chaos?
Prayer
Father, thank You that in Christ You have made me a participant in a new life. Thank You that my life is hidden with Christ in You and that I can set my mind on things above.
Let my faith become more than intellectual knowledge; let it become a living reality that governs the way I think and walk. Teach me to remain steadfast in Christ when circumstances change and not to be moved by fear, chaos, or what is happening around me.
May I live as a child of light, with my eyes fixed on Your Kingdom and with the assurance that my life is secure in Christ. May the reality of His resurrection be manifested in me each day.
