Philippians 3:13-14 “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
1 Corinthians 9:26 “Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.”
Reflection
There are so many people and so many generations that lost the target, great ministries have lost the target.
Let us aim in such a way that we don’t lose the target.
For this to happen, says the Lord, the target must be very important. People lose the target because they don’t aim at it, because it’s not that important to them.
When hitting the target becomes the most important thing, then you will never fail to hit the target.
Paul understood it: one thing I do, I press toward the goal. He didn’t run aimlessly, he didn’t fight beating the air. His focus was absolute. The target was Christ, the restored heavenly identity, the Kingdom of God manifested in heaven and earth united.
Many are distracted with good things that are not the target. They lose focus because they never made the target their supreme priority. The target must be more important than approval, than ministerial success, than comfort, than everything.
Meditation for Today
What is my target? Is it really the most important thing in my life or do I get distracted with other things? Am I aiming with absolute precision?
Prayer
Father, don’t let me lose the target as so many generations have lost it.
May hitting the target be the most important thing in my life, more important than anything else.
Focus my life with absolute precision toward the target You have established.
Amen.
Blessings beloved
