John 6:63 “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”
Reflection
Filling ourselves with religion does not transfer us to the Kingdom of God.
There is a great difference between following a religion and being led by the Spirit. Many people try to follow Christ through a religion: fulfilling rituals, memorizing doctrines, attending meetings. But that doesn’t transfer them to the Kingdom of God because they are not led by the Spirit.
When we are led by the Spirit, we will have more and more moments in which we will meditate on eternal things.
Those who are led by the Spirit are children of God. They don’t operate from dead religious structures, but from the life of the Spirit that connects with things above, with eternal realities, with the heavenly perspective.
The more time you spend in that realm of eternal life, the more you will be conscious of God’s presence.
Religion doesn’t produce consciousness of God’s presence. It produces knowledge about God. But being led by the Spirit, meditating on eternal things, living from your heavenly nature, that produces real intimacy, continuous consciousness of His presence, manifestation of His life in your body.
Meditation for Today
Am I filled with religion or led by the Spirit? Do I meditate on eternal things or on religious systems? Am I conscious of God’s presence or do I only have knowledge about Him?
Prayer
Father, I don’t want religion, I want to be led by Your Spirit.
Transform me from the religious system to the Kingdom of God, from knowledge about You to consciousness of Your presence.
May I meditate on eternal things and be conscious of Your presence continually.
