1 Corinthians 15:54-57 “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ ‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Hebrews 2:14-15 “Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”
Reflection
One of the most important things we must understand is the temple of God.
And I want to tell you that one of the greatest attacks the devil has sent to the church, is that he has taken from our hands the power of Christ.
For some reason the church is not managing to take possession of what Christ accomplished.
And the way the devil is stealing from us, is through the preconceived ideas that we have and with which we have grown up, like the end times, the rapture, etc.
God is restoring the power of Christ’s first coming, the power that conquered death.
Because we don’t have to conquer death, death has already been conquered. Through His death, He conquered death.
We must understand this power. Christ destroyed him who had the power of death. He freed us from slavery to the fear of death. The victory has already been won. But many are not living in that victory because their preconceived ideas keep them focused on waiting for something future instead of possessing what has already been conquered.
Meditation for Today
Have preconceived ideas stolen from me the power of Christ’s first coming? Do I understand that death has already been conquered and I must live in that victory now?
Prayer
Father, restore in me the power of Christ’s first coming.
May I understand that death has already been conquered, that I don’t have to conquer it.
Break the preconceived ideas that steal from me the power of what Christ already accomplished.
May I live in the complete victory of His death and resurrection now.
Amen.
Blessings beloved
