Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Reflection
Ask yourself the following question:
Can I be changed? Can I adjust my theology? Am I so married to what I think, that not even God can penetrate it? Can I be transformed?
This is extremely important, as we have seen this week, only the shepherds were open to believe, they aimed at the target and found Jesus.
There are many things happening today that have to do with the interpretation of the Bible and have nothing to do with what Christ said.
Transformation requires openness. If you are so committed to your ideas that not even God can change them, you have turned your theology into an idol. The Pharisees loved their interpretations more than the truth. The shepherds loved the truth more than their ideas.
The renewal of the mind is not optional. It is the path to be transformed from glory to glory. But it only happens when we allow God to penetrate our mental structures and adjust them according to His revelation, not according to our traditions.
Meditation for Today
Can I be changed or am I married to my ideas? Can my theology be adjusted by God or have I turned it into something immovable?
Prayer
Father, make me transformable, I am not married to my ideas but to You.
Renew my understanding, adjust my theology according to Your revelation, not according to my traditions.
May I be like the shepherds, open to believe and aim at the target no matter how much I must change.
